Fiona completed her training as a clinical psychologist at the University of New South Wales, Sydney. Since then she has also been awarded a PhD examining the impact of comorbid psychiatric disorders on psychosocial and treatment outcomes. In addition to working in private practice, Fiona is employed at the Black Dog Institute where she is researching suicide prevention.

Fiona has worked extensively with people experiencing mood and anxiety disorders, eating disorders, adjustment disorder, and substance use disorders using a number of treatment approaches, including cognitive behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, interpersonal psychotherapy, and schema therapy.
