Monie Hale
Registered Play Therapist

Location: Mona Vale

Monie Hale is a Registered Play Therapist™ who brings deep understanding, creativity, and compassion to her practice. She supports children aged 3 to 13 who are experiencing social, emotional, or developmental challenges, integrating both directive and non-directive Play Therapy interventions to achieve the best outcomes for her young clients.

Monie holds the highest level of education in Play Therapy in Australia, with a Master of Child Play Therapy from Deakin University, alongside a Graduate Diploma and Certificate in Therapeutic Play. She is trained in Child-Centred Play Therapy, Filial Play Therapy, Medical Play Therapy, and Learn to Play Therapy, enabling her to tailor evidence-based approaches to the unique needs of each child and family.

With over 25 years of experience working in various roles with children in preschools, schools, and family homes, Monie brings both expertise and warmth to her work. She collaborates closely with parents, caregivers, educators, and allied-health professionals to ensure children feel supported within their broader community.

At the heart of Monie’s approach is the belief that play is a child’s natural language. In the safety of a supportive therapeutic relationship, children can explore, express, and make sense of their experiences, thoughts, and feelings. Monie works with both NDIS and private clients, with a special passion for supporting children who are neurodivergent, experiencing anxiety, or working through the effects of developmental trauma.

Outside of her professional role, Monie is a proud mum of four, enjoys time with friends and family, and loves living on the beautiful Northern Beaches.
