Diana holds a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences from Sydney University. At Macquarie University, Diana completed two Postgraduate studies – Diploma of Psychology and a Diploma of Professional Psychology.
She is registered with the national board of psychologists. Diana is skilled and experienced in counselling individuals and facilitating therapeutic groups for adults with a variety of issues such as depression, anxiety, relationship issues, domestic violence, self-esteem issues, addiction and bereavement.
Diana is also a lifeline telephone counsellor who is well trained and experienced in assisting and counselling people in crisis. She is skilled in crisis intervention and planning, and trained in ASIST suicide intervention.
In addition Diana has had experience working with children with Autism using an applied behavioural analysis model, and has also had extensive experience conducting IQ, achievement testing and qEEG testing with children, adolescents and adults with a wide range of difficulties (e.g ADHD, Aspergers, learning difficulties and emotional problems).
Diana uses Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as her primary modes of therapy, however she believes each client is unique so any psychological assistance should suit the individual’s needs. Diana regularly participates in individual and peer supervision and professional development activities. Some of these have included training around grief and bereavement, ACT therapy and DBT therapy.
Diana’s special areas of interest include children, depression, couples, anxiety (in particular OCD and phobias) and personality disorders.
Diana is passionate about her work and strives to provide an empathic, personal and professional service. She is a gentle and caring therapist who works from our Mona Vale office.
